Whereas for voluntary BEE labeling, there are few products such as agricultural pump sets, induction motors, washing machines, laptops, office-related equipment, ceiling fans, inverters, microwaves, ovens, and more.
Documents Required for BEE certification
Documents that are required for testing of products such as proof of the manufacturing unit’s legal address, a user manual with a sample for testing, a Copy of the BIS license, and a copy of the factory license. Documents that are required for company registration are a cover letter and an agreement of Rs. 100 non-judicial stamp paper between BEE and the user of the label, certificate of trademark, registration fee, and payment receipt of company, quality management system certificate, authorized signatory letter, BIS license, SSI(Small Scale Industry) Certificate, a printout of the online company registration form which consists all details, quality management system certificate.
On the other hand, documents required for model registration include a cover letter, model registration charges as per the model, test report, sample label, printout of the mandatory form, and a printout of the application form which contains a sign and stamped with company seal.
Process of BEE Certification
The initial step is testing the product to determine the rate of energy consumption by that product. During model registration, test reports are required for further process so the applicant needs to send the documents of the product to NABL- an accredited lab for testing. Two types of testing that are related to it are Performance testing and safety testing.
For registration of a brand or company, the procedure include documentation, submission of application, scrutiny of documents, and grant of login credential which means once BEE officials get a satisfactory result they provide BEE login credentials by email and on the approval of company registration the BEE link get activate for model registration.
Later on, during the model registration process, the gathering of relevant data and documents is uploaded on the BEE portal, and then product testing is carried out for model registration. After this, the BEE sample label is prepared which helps to determine the product’s energy-saving potential. It is essential that applicants apply for BEE both online and offline as per the model and must have an authorized signatory. BEE officials analyze the application, documents, and test reports and if they find everything satisfactory then they provide BEE Certification. In case of any issues with documents, test reports, or application forms found irrelevant or incorrect then officials may reject your application.
